Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Receives instructions from foreman/superintendent on daily schedule.
• Soaps truck and trailer beds; responsible for cleaning and generally maintaining truck and trailer, as required.
• Coordinates the proper Hox Mix load out of truck with Dispatcher and moves truck as required for proper distribution of the weight of the load.
• Coordinates the loading of cold planed material into truck with the Cold Planer Operator and transports cold planed material to designated sites.
• Coordinates the loading of raw aggregate into truck with the Plant Operator and transports raw material to designated sites.
• Secures each load of various materials with truck mounted canvas, retracts canvas covering materials at different job sites.
• Does pre-trip inspection of assigned truck daily and completes required checklists, reports any deficiencies immediately to supervisor.
• Follows DOT, OSHA, MSHA, and Company safety regulations and policies.

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

Education

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience driving super dump trucks required.

Minimum 6 months trucking experience in paving industry required.

Reading

Ability to read, write and complete equipment reports.

Licenses

CDL Type A, favorable Driver History Record required.

Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Must meet physical requirements of the Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and be able to renew license annually.

Must be proficient in reversing vehicle.

Familiar with Hawai'i roadways and locations and knowledge of highway safety requirements preferred.
