KECI has an immediate opening for a dynamic and creative News Producer! As a News Producer, you’ll be at the heart of our newsroom, responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. You’ll collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Digital Manager, and Anchors to shape engaging, accurate, and impactful newscasts. This role also involves writing and generating stories, driving editorial content, and contributing to our digital platforms. What you’ll do: Determine the content and flow of daily newscasts Collaborate with management and on-air staff to generate and write compelling stories Develop engaging content for broadcast and web platforms Ensure newscasts are accurate, informative, and visually appealing What we’re looking for: Strong news judgment and a passion for storytelling Excellent writing skills that are clear, compelling, and accurate Ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver under tight deadlines Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills Flexibility, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities under pressure Proficiency with non-linear editing (Avid preferred) and newsroom systems such as iNews Qualifications: Previous producing experience at a commercial TV station is strongly preferred (exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered) A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred If you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and want to help shape the stories that matter to our community, we’d love to hear from you!
