JOB DESCRIPTION: Looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Underwriter to join our underwriting team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their underwriting skills while supporting the team in evaluating risks and assisting with the underwriting process.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist underwriters in assessing and evaluating insurance applications and risks.
• Review and analyze policy applications, client data, and claims histories.
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather additional information or clarify details.
• Ensure timely processing of applications, reinstatements and additions.
• Support in maintaining accurate records and documentation for underwriting files.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of underwriting decisions and findings.
• Stay updated with regulations, and underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance
• Assist with identifying and addressing potential risks and recommending adjustments to policy terms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• At least 2+ years in the insurance industry or medical field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Work in a timely manner to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the underwriting field.
