Job Description

Senior Bookkeeper Our client is seeking a seasoned, self-motivated Bookkeeper with 8–15 years of experience managing full-charge bookkeeping and HR/payroll functions for their growing company. The ideal candidate is a QuickBooks expert who understands the complexities that come with scaling a business beyond 50 employees, particularly in Texas. This role is pivotal in supporting our clients' financial operations and ensuring compliance as they continue to grow. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks with expert-level accuracy Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and assist with year-end reporting Administer payroll processes and benefits, ensuring compliance with Texas employment laws Manage employee onboarding/offboarding, maintain personnel records, and support HR functions Ensure timely payroll tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Provide insight and guidance on compliance issues as the firm scales beyond 50 employees Work closely with external CPAs, auditors, and benefit providers Identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems preferred Preferred Qualifications: ~8–15 years of bookkeeping and payroll/HR experience ~ Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) ~ Strong working knowledge of Texas employment law and payroll compliance ~ Experience in managing payroll and benefits for a company with over 50 employees ~ Familiarity with ADP, Gusto, or similar payroll platforms ~ Experience in restoration, construction, or related industries is a strong plus ~ Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset ~ Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality Benefits: Competitive base salary.
