We deliver secure, high-quality interpretation and translation in over 80 languages for federal, state, and local agencies. We are expanding our linguist team under a new USCIS contract and are seeking Full-Time Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) with proven experience in professional interpretation and cultural communication. Responsibilities Provide real-time interpretation over the phone for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Accurately and confidentially interpret across immigration, legal, and administrative contexts. Adhere to USCIS protocols, ethics, and confidentiality standards. Handle scheduled and on-demand calls with professionalism. Support quality and compliance audits; participate in training. Maintain readiness for urgent or high-volume interpretation requests. Qualifications Fluency in English and at least one target language (priority: Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, Haitian Creole; rare languages encouraged). 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (government, legal, or immigration settings preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics and standards (NCIHC, ATA, RID guidelines). Strong telephone communication skills; ability to remain impartial and accurate. Must be able to pass a Tier 3 or Tier 5 background investigation for USCIS clearance. U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency (required for clearance).
