About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its Sport Science Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the institute's operations, which include policy, education, strategic engagement, health promotion, and sports medicine. This role involves strategic planning, personnel management, budget oversight, and national representation on health and safety issues. The Managing Director will also lead and manage the institute's programs and initiatives, supervise a team of directors and a coordinator, and ensure the institute's research and governance work align with its strategic goals. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 8-10 years' administrative, policy, or legislative work experience, with a background in medicine, healthcare, or a membership organization. The role requires a proven track record in leadership, management, and personnel supervision, as well as exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups. A background in college athletics and a national reputation in sport or exercise science are highly valued. The ideal candidate will also have a doctorate or MD/DO with a specialization in sports medicine, and a strong understanding of the NCAA's structure and function.
