**Ireland Electric Company**, a progressive and growing electrical apparatus company established in 1984, is seeking a skilled and experienced **Lead Electric Motor and Pump Mechanic** to join our Inside Service team in Virginia Beach, VA.
**About the Role:** As our Lead Electric Motor and Pump Mechanic, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of electric motors and pumps. Your expertise will be crucial in training and mentoring junior mechanics, ensuring efficient and high-quality repairs while maintaining a safe working environment, while in our climate-controlled service center.
**Responsibilities:** *Repair various brands and types of horizontal and vertical electric motors and pumps (end suction, split case, low-lift, and submersible). * Safely rig and lift apparatus weighing up to 5 tons. * Disassemble and reassemble electric motors and pumps. *Dynamically Balance rotating assemblies to industry standards. *Clean electrical and mechanical components using various tools and equipment (steam pressure washer, automated parts washer, cabinet bead blaster, etc.). * Inspect parts and components, identify defects, recommend repair or replacement options, and accurately document findings. * Train and coach other mechanics, utilizing proper techniques and troubleshooting methodologies. * Lead problem-solving efforts for complex repair issues related to rotating electrical apparatus. * Manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards. *Maintain a detail-oriented and organized approach, fostering teamwork and collaboration. * Experience with precision measuring equipment, machining capabilities, welding, winding all a plus!
**Requirements:** * High school diploma or GED. * Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. * Minimum 10-15 years of hands-on experience in electric motor and pump repair . * Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical principles. * Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. * Ability to lift 50 pounds. *Availability for overtime and emergency calls as needed.
