Job Description

Gentle Water Cremation is seeking a new Funeral Director at our funeral home and care center in West Palm Beach, FL—the only alkaline hydrolysis facility operating in the state of Florida.

You’ll work with families to deliver excellent care and to grow awareness of this innovative disposition option across South Florida, and you'll also care for decedents, learning to operate the Water Cremation machinery.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact for families throughout their lifecycles as our customers
• Maintain and operate the care center
• Represent Gentle Water Cremation within the community
• Cultivate relationships with businesses, religious institutions, and community organizations to generate referrals
• Host educational seminars and open houses to showcase services, build trust, and educate families in need of preneed or at-need assistance
• Hire, train, and manage staff as we grow
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
• Actively monitor and report business results to the owners
• Evaluate the business and make recommendations for improvement
• Maintain inventories, manage cash and payments in and out

Requirements

• Excited about alkaline hydrolysis (No experience needed.)
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Computer literate and comfortable working with new software and technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sensitive, caring, compassionate, friendly, dependable, trustworthy
• Ambitious, outgoing, adaptable, hands-on, detail oriented, precise, concise

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Funeral Director License OR valid out-of-state Funeral Director License and ability to immediately sit for the Florida exam
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must reside in the West Palm Beach area or be willing to relocate

Physical/Work Conditions

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
• Must be able to stand, sit, lift, pull, push, and kneel for long periods of time
• Must be willing to drive to meet with families within 50 miles
