Cognizants Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Full Stack Java Lead with React experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership and Architecture:
    • Lead the design and development of robust, scalable and high-performance applications using Java and React.
    • Define and implement technical architecture, ensuring the use of optimal design patterns and best practices.
    • Drive technical roadmaps for projects and provide architectural guidance to the development team.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into solutions to improve development efficiency and application quality.
  • Development and Engineering:
    • Develop and maintain both front-end (React.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (Java, Spring Boot/MVC, Microservices) components.
    • Design and implement RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end services.
    • Manage and interact with databases (SQL/NoSQL like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
    • Implement and improve DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Team Management and Mentorship:
    • Lead, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
    • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, security and best practices.
    • Manage project timelines, estimate work and ensure deliverables meet business and technical specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers and QA, to define requirements and deliver solutions.
    • Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, effectively communicating project progress, challenges and solutions.
    • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the full stack and various environments.

Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot), React.js/Redux, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and database technologies.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in a technical leadership or team lead role with strong team management and project management skills.
  • ProblemSolving: Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities to identify and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Methodologies: Strong understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

The annual salary for this position is between $114,000 - $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizants discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizants applicable plans.
