If you are looking for a challenging, team-oriented environment in which you can put your expertise to work, then this is the place for you.Under the direction of Management, responsible for evaluating the drug regimens of patients in a nursing home to assure the facility is providing adequate drug therapy and is within the guidelines of Federal and State regulations.Attributes Required:•Work Ethic/Integrity - must possess intrinsic drive to excel coupled with values in line with company philosophy•Leadership - ability to lead project teams to deadlines, while maintaining strong team orientation•Relational - ability to build relationships with business unit management and become "trusted advisor"•Strategy and Planning - ability to think ahead, plan and manage time efficiently•Problem Solving - ability to analyze causes and solve problems at both a strategic and functional level•Team Oriented - ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all team membersEssential job functions (include the following):•Evaluates the drug regimen reviews of patients/clients in the facility, assuring appropriate drug therapy.•Monitors the compliance of the facility with Federal and State guidelines and notes any irregularities.•Serves as an information source regarding medication and Federal and State pharmacy regulations.•Acts as a liaison between the pharmacy and the facility when problems need to be resolved.•Educates nurses about problem areas within the facility and also in areas of staff interest.•Attends necessary meetings of the facility, pharmacy, infection control, quality assurance, and interdisciplinary team conference.•Reviews physician orders and evaluates for appropriate action, dosage, potential drug interactions, administration, and stability.•Assists in training and supervising pharmacy technicians, interns, and externs.•Produces written reports on findings and recommendations for each monthly visit to facilities and provides reports to the Administrator, DON, and where appropriate the medical director/physician.•Maintains seizure and drug problem notice files.•Reconciles controlled drugs and audits patient charts.•Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as neededEducation and/or Certifications:•BS/PharmD degree in pharmacy required•Pharmacist License required•Valid driver's license and clean driving recordSkills and Qualifications:•2+ years of related experience, preferably in LTC or high-volume pharmacy•Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience required•Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines•Ability to solve problems with minimal direction•Great attention to detail and accuracy•Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines•Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurateWork Environment:•Requires up to 90% travel•Ability to work flexible hoursWhat We Offer:Emotional well-being and physical health are important, which is why our employees receive a generous benefits package and a work culture that supports our core value of, "Treat others as you would like to be treated."Compensation & FinancialCompetitive pay401(k) with up to 3.5% company match (1)Family, Health & Insurance Benefits (1), (2)Multiple health plan options including copay (FSA-eligible) and HSA eligible plansWellness Incentive ProgramDental and Vision plansCompany-paid basic life, AD&D and long-term disability coverageOptional employee, spouse, and child life/AD&D insuranceOptional accident, critical illness, and short-term disability coverageDependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Time Off Paid holidays and sick daysGenerous vacation benefits based on years of service(1) Eligibility begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment(2) Full-time employees only, excluding EAP which is available to all Guardian employeesThe Guardian DifferenceOur clients require pharmacy services that aren't "cookie cutter."
