Direct Client Job Description:
The Client requires the services of One Cloud Solution Architect hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Cloud Solutions Architect and the specifications outlined in this document for Client team. The Cloud Solution Architect will provide strategic guidance in the development process, make technical decisions regarding solutions and explain how they will impact the organization.
As part of Client IT Applications initiatives, the Cloud Solution Architect 2 will be responsible for:
- Architect, develop and re-engineer applications that fully leverage the Cloud capabilities (preferably AWS)
- Define and develop blueprints and roadmaps for building efficient and high-performance solutions in the cloud (preferably AWS)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software solutions.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging microservices architecture, containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Drive the adoption of cloud-native best practices for scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Implement and advocate for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Plan and engineer cloud computing infrastructure and applications.
- Integrate applications with various third parties such as Federal agencies, State agencies and private firms (For example, CMS Federal Hub, SSA, MMIS, EBT, IRS, Client, Client etc.)
- Provide cloud architecture guidance for Security, Identity/Access Management and Monitoring. Ensure compliance with HHS enterprise security configuration standards.
- Provide cloud architecture guidance for applications across all layers - User Interface, Middleware integrations and data bases.
- Provide cloud architecture guidance for batch processing applications.
- Provide AWS operational guidance both internal to the team, and for external operations teams
- Define standard concepts, practices, and procedures for cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Lead and ensure HHSC best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations in the cloud.
- Participate in application modernization.
- Investigate and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions.
- Provide technical oversight, review, and quality control throughout the life cycle of the implementation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is preferred.

Required Skills: - 7 Years Required Hands on experience in designing, building, and supporting cloud-native application solutions.
- 7 Years Required Experience in combined roles of enterprise or technical architecture, cloud platform development, cloud strategy or IT strategy
- 7 years Required Experience in migration of applications from on-premise to cloud with enterprise architecture
- 7 Years Required Experience in Application security architecture in Cloud/on-prem environment
- 7 Years Required Experience in implementation of cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS and demonstrate expertise in authentication and authorization using Okta, SailPoint and/or similar technologies
- 7 Years Required Experience in security policies, implementing multi-factor authentication, enabling single-sign-on (SSO) capabilities and securing APIs using gateway platform for multiple channels
- 7 years Required Experience in design and implementation of Single Page Applications (SPA) using Angular, ReactJS and/or other similar frameworks/libraries
- 7 Years Required Experience in developing cloud-native applications, adhering to best practices for cloud platforms
- 7 Years Required Experience in designing microservices-based architectures. Decomposing monolithic applications into microservices
- 7 Years Required Experience in developing microservices using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JPA and/or Hibernate
- 7 Years Required Hands-on development experience implementing applications utilizing any J2EE Application Server, Authentication and Authorization, Caching strategies
- 7 Years Required Experience with IaaC, automation and various CICD principles, ability to apply this experience to manage cloud based infrastructure.
- 7 Years Required Experience with middleware process orchestration and integrations using IBM BPM/BAW and/or similar technologies
- 7 Years Required Experience with batch processing, scheduling tools and file storage in cloud environment
- 7 Years Required Experience in application integrations with external systems preferably with CMS, IRS and/or other third parties
- 7 Years Required Experience in designing applications for scalability and optimizing performance in cloud environment.
- 7 Years Required Experience in implementing robust logging using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace in cloud environment
- 7 Years Required Hands-on programming experience in the following languages: Java, J2EE, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, UI frameworks/libraries (preferably Angular), Spring, Java Server Pages, Servlet, EJB, JSON, XML, ES5/ES6, NPM, Maven, Business Process
- 7 Years Required Experience in implementing Client-facing applications with responsive design and development
- 7 Years Required Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift)
- 7 Years Required Hands-on experience participating in all phases of Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
- 7 Years Required Experience with messaging platforms using IBM MQ and/or similar technologies in cloud environment
- 7 Years Required Experience in Test-driven development and test creation using frameworks such as Katalon, Karma, Jasmine, Selenium
Preferred Skills: - 6 Years Preferred Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later and JBOSS
- 6 Years Preferred Prior state eligibility systems experience either State of Texas or other states including CMS experience
- 4 Years Preferred Hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms
- 4 Years Preferred Experience with business rules engine using IBM ODM and/or similar technologies
- 4 Years Preferred Knowledge of APIs design and implementation.
- 4 Years Preferred Knowledge of Monitoring tools
- 4 Years Preferred Knowledge of common DevOps tools GitLab, Jenkins, and Container
Benefits:
Rate: $73.33 to $83.33/Hr DOE
100% Remote
