Highlandtown location.
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, performing appropriate procedures, and preparing rooms & equipment. The MA is also responsible for maintaining records and interacting in a professional, friendly manner with patients & family members, physicians, staff, and visitors. This position is also responsible for clinical process improvement and acts as a coordinator for lab and referral issues. The MA serves as a lead for process improvement teams. Courtesy, respect, friendliness, and tact are required in dealing with diverse populations.
Hours: M, T, W, F 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Thursdays- 10 am to 7 pm. Occasional Saturday Requirements Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
Certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program or a higher level of medical education (i.e., accredited LPN program, RN program.)
Required Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: - Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification
- We accept MA Certifications from RMA administered by American Medical Technologies (AMT), CMA administered by American Association of Medication Assistants (AAMA), CMA administered by National Healthcare Association (NHA), and NCMS administered by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Required Experience: Graduated from accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Supervision received from: Direct supervision from Clinical Manager or RN. Indirect supervision from Providers, nurses, and other positions of leadership as directed by the Clinical Manager. BALTIMORE MEDICAL SYSTEM, Inc.
