This Social Media Person Position Features:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising or related field plus four (4) years of progressive experience in developing and implementing programs of public information, one (1) of which was in a team leader/coordinator capacity.
1.Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
2.Demonstrated experience and background in social media, managing content calendar, video scripts/production, posting/monitoring social media platforms. Responding/engaging with community on behalf of Austin 3-1-1.
3.Demonstrated experience in video production, video editing, video script writing, video graphics designs.
4.Writes plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and edits articles for publication in a variety of forms, including electronic publication
5.Coordinates all aspects of production of marketing materials
6.Community outreach experience and able to represent an organization at community events.
7.Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
8.Designs, researches, writes and edits newsletters, media advisories
We would like for this person to be able to create and present a social media campaign on a topic given to them before the interview.
Daily:
Daily responsibilities include writing the social media posts for every platform as well as engaging and responding to everyone who reaches out to us. Have to be creative enough to suit our message to each platform, but also constantly monitoring in order to respond to every message we get within a target of 20 minutes.
Weekly:
Weekly responsibilities include making a calendar of social media posts so we can post every day on every platform in a varied and interesting way. Each week I am also generally collaborating with Cesar on video creation to ensure they keep a high quality. As the social media lead, also need to have significant knowledge of the Ads manager platforms for every social media program in order to run effective paid ads every week and analyze them afterward.
On a longer term, also generally help to produce a few videos per month, whether that is behind the camera as a director and writer or in front of it as a host. Shoot videos with our camera, edit with Adobe Premiere, and plan scripts in advance. I also meet with other departments and team members to plan these videos so that every piece of communication we have hits the public at the best possible time.
