Pay rate: $25.08/hour + an additional $6.40/hour for health and welfare. This is an armed security position safeguarding federal government buildings. All new hires start as part time/flex until full time post is available. Candidates MUST be willing to undergo a thorough federal background check including credit check which can take from one to six months to complete. Candidates MUST be 21+ years of age and have a valid drivers license./ppEXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Must have 2+ years of armed security OR 1+ years as a full police officer for a municipality OR 2+ years service in a U.S. Armed Forces component in good standing or honorably discharged. Must be a U.S. citizen or naturalized U.S. citizen./ppAllied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer. The Armed Security Officer provides armed protective services in accordance with Allied Universal standards for a high profile customer. Duties include armed patrols, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, incident reporting, and customer service. The Armed Security Officer will help ensure the safety of customer personnel, visitors, and property by deterring threats, enforcing procedures, and responding to emergencies with professionalism and strict adherence to security protocols./ppRESPONSIBILITIES:/pulliEnsure the facility is provided with high-quality security services to protect people and property/liliBuild, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client employees and guests/liliReport safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances verbally and in writing/liliHandle security issues and emergency situations according to protocol/liliFollow all directives relating to site-specific operations including manuals and post orders/liliGreet and welcome visitors and employees; answer questions and assist as needed/liliPatrol the facility on foot or in a vehicle/liliAnswer phones, monitor closed-circuit television systems and alarms/li/ulpQUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliCurrent drivers license if driving a company or customer owned vehicle/liliLicensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment/liliMust possess, or be able to obtain, each of the following:/liulliBasic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from the AHA or ARC/liliFederal and state firearms qualifications/liliNational Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) certification/liliOC, Baton and handcuffing certification/liliDefensive tactics and de-escalation tactics certification/li/ulliMust possess one or more of the following:/liulliMinimum of two (2) years of armed security experience/liliMinimum of two (2) years of US military service/liliMinimum of one (1) year full-time armed civilian law enforcement experience/liliMinimum of 21 years of age, or higher as required by applicable law or contractual requirements/liliAble to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors/liliDemonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public/liliEffective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately; able to speak, read, and write fluently in English/liliProblem solving skills; able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately/liliAttention to detail; able to compile, sort, and interpret data/liliActive listening skills; able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy/li/ul/ulpPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):/pulliAbility to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)/liliDHS Homeland Security Federal Protective Service Clearance/liliAssociates degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business or a closely related field/li/ulpBENEFITS:/pulliHealth insurance and 401k plans for full-time positions/liliSchedules that fit with your personal life goals/liliOngoing paid training programs and career growth opportunities/liliEmployee discounts through our perks program to your favorite restaurants, entertainment venues and much more/li/ulpAllied Universal is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
