Job Description

Citizen Design is looking for an Architectural Drafter [Revit Enthusiast] to join our team of talented and caring designers in Seattle. We are a people business that makes creating spaces a joyful experience!

You might spend time on a cool house in California one week and then a Seattle neighborhood DADU the next. Our focus though, is on inspirational design and real-world constructability for every project and every client. Our projects have been published multiple times on Arch Daily and we are proud of a Building of the Year nomination. Architizer recently awarded us a Reader’s Choice Award. As a team, we look out for each other.

Do you love Revit? We are adopting Revit across the board to integrate with our current software. We need you as our in-house Revit aficionado! This is a role for someone who loves both teaching and learning in an in-person office setting. We know you are committed to the craft of architecture and want to hear all about it. We also want to hear about your weekend hike, your preferred coffee order, and your opinions on the PNW rain. You are a good communicator, detail-oriented, and humble. We want you to grow professionally and will also encourage your personal development. Each week often includes a bonus Critique session to gather with the team for sketching, a construction site visit, or a concept charette [wine included].

Citizen Design has been recognized as one of the best workplaces in Washington by the Puget Sound Business Journal. Citizen Design is a part of Collaborative Companies [working alongside Valor Builds and Community Development] and we are redefining the building process by integrating ownership representation, design, and construction at the earliest stages of design to deliver quality projects on-time and on-budget. At Citizen Design we design inspirational spaces that foster health and community. We also have a good time! Our portfolio includes new residential and residential renovation, commercial tenant improvements, and multi-family development. Take a look at our projects:

Responsibilities:

· Prepare architectural drawings, assist with code research, coordinate construction drawings, develop design ideas, attend client meetings, visit job sites, generate as-built drawings, and work collaboratively with teammates.

· Exposure to all phases of project development. It is expected that you will contribute to design discussions, idea generation, and do both technical and design work.

· Work product includes analog drawing, digital modeling, CAD drafting, technical writing, graphic design, and page layout.

· Attend project, client, and agency meetings with a principal architect. Be a positive representative of Citizen Design to clients and contractors.

Architectural Drafter Preferred Qualifications:

· 3-5+ years of experience of permit production in the field of architecture

· Master’s degree in architecture preferred

· Any combination of residential, multi-family residential, or commercial design experience

· 3-5+ years of on-the-job Revit experience

· AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills

· Thorough knowledge of building codes

· Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and graphics communication skills

· Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents

· Understand major building systems, detailing, and constructability

· Deep knowledge of the local architecture scene from living and working in the Seattle area

Compensation range: $60,000-$90,000 depending on experience

The benefits package also includes paid time off [vacation, sick, holidays], health insurance [medical, dental, vision].

All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and must already possess long-term work authorization.

We request that qualified candidates submit a resume and a select portfolio of professional work via LinkedIn or send to: [admin@collaborativeco.com]
