Job Description

Responsibilities: Safely operate a tractor/trailer combination or comparable vehicle for scheduled deliveries. Transport goods from the depot to assigned warehouses. Haul empty trailers, palletized loads, and vendor freight back to the depot. Conduct pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance. Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and documentation. Adhere to all federal, state, and company transportation regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management regarding routes, delays, or equipment issues. Ensure cargo is properly secured and handled to prevent damage. Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself, coworkers, and company property. Qualifications: Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), typically CDL-A. Clean driving record meeting company and DOT standards. Minimum required years of commercial driving experience (often 1–2 years, depending on employer). Ability to operate tractor/trailer equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety procedures. Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting. Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb into/out of equipment, and handle occasional lifting or maneuvering of freight. Strong communication and time-management skills. Dependability and commitment to safe, on-time deliveries.
