Responsibilities

• Create full repeat digital artwork files from scanned vintage fabrics or illustrate original prints
• Create technical artwork for embroidery, tooling, and other various techniques
• Utilize hand drawing or illustration when necessary to create designs
• Amend and re-color existing prints/artwork and colorways
• Vectorize illustrations and scans in Illustrator
• Review leather development swatches and send comments to factories
• Maintain the physical and digital print archive
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities
• Incorporate trend insights into handbag designs to maintain relevance and PND aesthetic
• Collaborate, brainstorm, and co-create concepts, seasonal direction, and design
• Assist the Design Director in tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design or Graphic Design
• Minimum 5+ years' relevant work experience in print & pattern (preferably leather goods or accessories)
• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong illustration or painting skills
• Team player attitude and strength in building positive working relationships
• Strong sense of color and color palettes
• Experience in trend forecasting
• Ability to be creative and technical
• Understanding of the design and development process from inception through final adoption
• Proactive problem-solving and information seeking-skills
• Strong Multi-tasking skills and adaptability
• Experience communicating and collaborating with factories
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
• Must have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented
• Broad understanding of the leather goods or accessories industry * Preferred *
