Steel Detailer, Quality – Direct Hire – Olean, NY

This Structural Surveyor position in Olean, NY, offers a direct hire opportunity with a solid compensation range of $75K–$85K, and a structured Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule.

Role Summary

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the dimensional accuracy of steel beam components using precision measuring instruments. The position blends traditional surveying techniques with modern 3D measurement and modeling technologies, supporting quality control and fabrication standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Use mechanical and survey-grade instruments (e.g., theodolites, laser trackers, total stations) to verify part dimensions.
• Perform 3D dimensional controls and align them with project models.
• Document and report findings clearly for quality assurance and compliance.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure consistency in data capture, model updates, and final inspections.
• Update or create 3D models as part of the verification and control process.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Strong background in industrial or structural measurement.
• Proficiency with survey equipment (laser scanners, total stations, theodolites).
• Experience with 3D modeling software and understanding of dimensional tolerances.
• Solid documentation habits and communication skills.
