About the Job The University of Minnesota, Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, has an occasional need for part-time, temporary theatre arts or dance stage managers. This is not a posting for vacancies but a pool of applicants for potential openings during the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt; only contacted if an active opening occurs. Positions may be appointed anytime from late August 2024 to late May 2025. The role involves running rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances. The stage manager will collaborate with undergraduate student performers, serve as a mentor, and work with graduate designers and crew to ensure successful production execution. Key Responsibilities Manage rehearsals and technical rehearsals Perform pre-production duties as required Attend meetings and prepare the rehearsal space Distribute Daily Rehearsal Reports and Calls Maintain the Prompt Book Coordinate during rehearsals and post-opening Run technical rehearsals, ensuring safety Performance Responsibilities Attend and call performances Distribute Performance Reports Maintain show integrity Qualifications Required: Experience as a theatrical stage manager Availability nights and weekends Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite (Word, Excel, Zoom) Preferred: Calm, professional demeanor with a good sense of humor Good judgment and discretion Ability to mentor students Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and positively #J-18808-Ljbffr University of Minnesota
