We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract position in an acute care hospital setting in California. This role offers a flexible schedule with a mix of day and evening shifts and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Position Details:
Location: California
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 8-hour shifts; variable start times (6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, 12:30 PM, or 3:00 PM)
EMR System: EPIC
Responsibilities:
Interpret and review physician medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety
Dispense medications and prepare sterile solutions
Monitor patient medication therapies and provide clinical consultation
Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and hospital policies
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Supervise daily workflow and support pharmacy personnel as needed
Qualifications:
Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California (required)
Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and dosage guidelines
Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques
Familiarity with EPIC and other hospital-based EMR systems
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
Problem-solving mindset and ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment
