Summary The Sr. Sourcing Manager will work in conjunction with Materials & Sales Planning, Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Logistics as the primary contact for Direct Materials Sourcing. This role will lead a team managing the direct materials space, which includes aluminum diecast, metal stampings, packaging, plastics, hardware, and coatings. The role will also have oversight of new product development projects, directed raw materials directed buys and materials market analytics. This position reports to the VP of Sourcing.
The Sr. Sourcing Manager will enable on-time-to-development/time-to-production goals, while managing total cost of ownership to a minimum. This position is responsible for purchasing activities related to continuity of supply and new product development projects, driving supplier risk mitigation and YOY productivity. The role requires experience developing new sources of supply and supply chain strategies in support of the supply-chain strategy. The position requires an understanding of how fluctuations of the global market, technologies, and commodity trends (risks and opportunities) will impact Weber-Stephen Products LLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Coordinate and implement best in class sourcing strategies with stakeholders that align with company objectives & initiatives
- Ensure appropriate levels of strategy, definition and development of the supply chain (physical, financial and information flows) in the areas of design, source, make and deliver have been implemented to support released products
- Identify, measure, report and action supplier productivity, and identify and drive supply chain efficiency opportunities while considering the global marketplace, price trends, risks and opportunities
- Partner internally to conduct regular technology and product roadmap review meetings to ensure alignment between suppliers and company needs
- Full accountability for Bill-of-Material and Services costs, assurance of supply, supplier performance and selection and supply management information / data management
- Own and provide industry and actual unit and service cost data that feeds into total cost of ownership (TCO), and continual improvement of supplier productivity
- Partner internally to develop clear third-party requirements to solve specific business and engineering needs, then own and drive to closure the supplier interface for all RFI, RFP and RFQ services
- Contract Strategy and Execution in partnership with Legal and business partners, drive contract closure, including developing a negotiation approach, fallback positions, and acceptable terms, and prepare legally binding and enforceable documents
- Utilize Preferred Supplier Management methodology to identify, qualify and formalize which suppliers are preferred suppliers, and guide sourcing decisions and engagement with them
- Manage supplier performance by measuring criteria and ensure supplier contractual adherence, research root cause of issues, and own/drive improved performance.
- Provide guidance and coaching for a direct reports, developing a cohesive strategic vision for the team.

Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor's degree in business or a technically related field, Masters degree a plus.
- 7-10 years' experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or technical position in a consumer products, high volume seasonal manufacturing environment
- People management experience a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification a plus
- Project Management experience

- Planning and organizational skills with an ability to handle a multitude of projects required
- Must be willing to travel internationally as required, 25% (Asia, Europe and Mexico)
