Job Description

We're looking for an upbeat, organized and multiskilled Social Media & Content Coordinator Intern to join our team. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside other communications, marketing and creative professionals to support our global brand. We're looking for individuals that are eager to learn, create, share ideas, uphold brand standards and learn from others.

What does a Social Media & Content Coordinator Intern do?

Social Media:
  • Coordinate, organize, execute and update our omnichannel social media content calendar.
  • Assist with content creation and development for all Service Express social media platforms, including but not limited to drafting social copy, creating Instagram reels, editing graphics, etc.
  • Assist with building social content from templates in Canva and work with brand marketing team members to build new templates as needed.
  • Contribute new and creative ideas for social media content, helping to grow our followers and engagement.
  • Assist in overseeing our employee social advocacy platform via Sprout Social, curating content and sharing best practices with users.
  • Coordinate and facilitate opportunities to capture content in Grand Rapids offices and virtually for social media use.
  • Discover and stay-up-to date on social media trends and strategies.
  • Support team members with various content and communications projects as needed.
  • Utilize our project management software, Monday.com, to help coordinate social assets and publish dates.
  • Assist in interacting with users and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
Content Coordinator/Project Coordinator:
  • Assist Project Manager with project and resource planning.
  • Ensure project management software stays up to date by reminding team members, documenting details, etc.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that tasks are completed on schedule by identifying problems, creating solutions, providing encouragement and implementing efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure that all project-related materials and documentation are organized and accessible according to our standards.
  • Proactively communicate project statuses with Project Managers and Marketing Leaders.
  • Schedule project meetings and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Under the supervision of the Project Manager, build tasks for the creative team members.
  • Create reporting and dashboards on projects and time spent from project management software.
  • Professionally coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
  • Other project management and administrative tasks as needed.

What we are hoping you can bring to the Service Express team...

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing or a communications degree
  • Experience: 1+ years in social media, marketing or professional setting
  • Exposure to Microsoft 35, Canva, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X
  • Bonus: Experience with social scheduling tools (HootSuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, etc.) and Monday.com.
  • Ability to adapt and be resourceful within a rapidly changing environment
  • Eagerness to learn and problem solve
  • Time management and communication skills

Other:
  • Salary range $18-$20/hr
  • Hybrid, minimum 3 days in office required (Tuesday - Thursday in office, Monday and Friday remote)
