Foreign Policy Analytics , the independent research and advisory division of Foreign Policy , is seeking a full-time Senior Policy and Research Analyst to join our research team. The Senior Policy and Research Analyst will conduct quantitative and qualitative research, perform data analytics to generate insights and actionable intelligence for clients and partners, and develop crisis simulations. We are seeking a highly motivated, communicative, and collaborative team member who is committed to the organization’s mission and will bring professionalism, analytical rigor, and creativity to our work. The Senior Policy Analyst will Conduct desktop and primary research and analysis across international policy issues, focusing on emerging technology, cybersecurity, and geopolitical risk. Monitor and analyze legislation, regulations, market dynamics, and geopolitical risks, especially in technology and regions such as Asia-Pacific. Analyze global and regional political economy and security trends. Collect, analyze, and visualize data from various sources; conduct economic trend and statistical analyses. Produce rapid response briefs on breaking policy issues. Prepare client presentations, policy briefs, and detailed reports. Participate in internal review of research drafts. Support and mentor team members. Skills and Qualifications Graduate degree (MA, MPP, MS, Ph.D.) in political science, international relations, economics, or public policy. Proven high-quality qualitative and quantitative research skills, analytical rigor, and attention to detail. Experience in project management, research scoping, and leading projects. Excellent English writing skills; ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling analysis. Comfortable presenting to senior executives. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and budgets. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills including data manipulation and visualization. At least 4 years of relevant experience in analytics, exploratory data analysis, and international affairs reporting. Ability to interpret and communicate data insights effectively. Programming skills (R, Python, STATA, etc.) are a plus. Non-English language skills are a plus. Eligibility to work in the United States. The salary range for this role is $75,000-$83,000 annually. Working at Foreign Policy Located in Washington, D.C., we prefer candidates in the D.C. area. Currently, staff work from the office at least once a month, with quarterly in-person meetings.
