A day in the life of a Security Operations Manager…

• Strategic Security Leadership : Oversee security operations at the ABC News Bureau in Washington, DC, and WPVI Philadelphia, ensuring a proactive, intelligence-informed approach to physical security, newsroom safety, and vendor oversight.
• Event Security & Crisis Preparedness : Design and implement comprehensive security plans for both remote and on-site events across TWDC business segments, balancing risk mitigation with operational continuity and brand integrity.
• Talent & Executive Protection : Establish and maintain protocols for high-visibility talent and executive protection, serving as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
• Government Affairs Integration : Act as a key partner to the Disney Office of Government Affairs, supporting DC-based initiatives and engagements with congressional, White House, and regulatory stakeholders across all lines of business.
• Cross-Brand Collaboration : Partner with National Geographic and other TWDC entities to align security frameworks, emergency response protocols, and support mechanisms in the DC region.
• Fiscal Stewardship : Drive cost-effective security solutions through data-driven decision-making, vendor performance management, and continuous improvement—ensuring high-impact protection with optimized resource use.

Here’s what you will need to have to be successful in the role:

• +10 years of Federal, state or local law enforcement experience and / or comparable private sector security and / or US military security operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

It’s a plus if you have these skills…

• Bachelor’s degree
• Exposure to media and entertainment security / public relations preferred
• CPR/AED certifications

The hiring range for this position in Washington D.C. is $78,200.00 to $104,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
