Job Summary:
As a Personal Care Aide (PCA) at Interim Healthcare, you’ll build relationships, improve the quality of life, and serve the student population in a way that encourages independence and promotes overall well-being. PCA’s may provide emotional support in a group setting or provide one-to-one support as well as behavioral interventions to children/adolescents in a school setting. Services may be provided in a special education class, regular education class or other instructional setting.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct support for students to meet their personal and academic needs as directed by the Special Education Teacher and/or Classroom teacher
- Observation, data collection and daily/ weekly reporting of behavior, goals etc. as needed by the school district
- Assist with transitions to and from classrooms ensuring safety of students
- When applicable, PCA will assist the IEP teams in implementing IEP goals and objectives
- Assists with mobility and ambulation as needed
- Toileting if needed
A few must haves from you:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience in a classroom setting (to include IEP knowledge)
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to attend in person or online training when required
- Strong work ethic and history of great attendance
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work ongoing shifts on school days consistently through the school year.
- A smart phone with the capability to download and use a time-clock app.
- Necessary Clearances and Credentials required to work in a school setting (Please see attached credential sheet).

Staffing Credentials
Credentials needed to apply for a school staffing position. All credentials must be submitted prior to the on-boarding process.
Clearances for School Employees:
The following four items are required of all School employees at the time of hire and must be less than a year old at time of hire then renewed every five years.
1. PA Child Abuse History Clearance - $13.00
- Visit PA Child Welfare Information Solution
- Create an Individual Login
- Apply for the clearance
- Select SCHOOL EMPLOYEE GOVERNED BY SCHOOL CODE
- All addresses where you have lived since 1975 and the names and ages of everyone you have lived with since 1975 are needed to complete this application
2. PA Access to Criminal History Clearance - $22.00
- Visit Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History
- Apply for the clearance by selecting SUBMIT A NEW RECORD CHECK (not volunteer)
- Be sure to print off the ‘certification form’ not just the receipt. You must click on the ‘control number’ button and then the ‘certification form’ button
3. Federal Criminal History Record - $23.85
- Visit IdentoGO
- Enter service code: 1KG6XN (Pennsylvania PDE -School Districts)
- Select SCHEDULE OR MANAGE APPOINTMENT
- Complete registration and make an appointment for fingerprinting
- Submit the UE ID number from the receipt to Interim Healthcare
4. Act 126 Training (Mandated Reporter)
All employees of Pennsylvania school districts are required to complete training to be in compliance with Act 126 – Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting. This Act is intended to protect the children of Pennsylvania by ensuring that all of those working with them understand how to recognize and report suspected child abuse.
There is a free, 3-hour online training offered by the University of Pittsburgh. Upon completion of the training please print the Certificate of Completion.
5. Copy of CPR/First Aid Certification
