As a Retail Sales Specialist at Yardbird Outdoor Furniture, you will interact with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored recommendations for outdoor living products. You will maintain an expert knowledge of the furniture line and support overall sales growth while training other personnel on effective sales techniques. Emphasizing continuous learning and adaptability, you will help create a positive customer experience and achieve sales goals.

As a Retail Sales Specialist for our Yardbird outdoor furniture department, you’ll engage with customers to understand their needs, preferences and budget while providing expert service and recommendations. You’ll maintain expert-level knowledge of Yardbird’s furniture that helps customers elevate their outdoor living spaces with high-quality, sustainable products. You’ll also use effective time management strategies to optimize daily tasks and responsibilities.

What you’ll do

• Engage with customers to support the customer experience, complete transactions, drive profitable growth and achieve sales goals
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends and products through continuous learning and professional development
• Stay current on promotional initiatives to generate sales through high traffic times
• Embrace our learning culture to continuously improve existing skills while acquiring new ones
• Maintain department merchandising and readiness to serve customers
• Train other sales floor personnel on how to be successful in the department

Basic qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• 1 year of experience in sales, customer service or related fields
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights and weekends

Preferred qualifications

• 1 year of experience working in the furniture industry
• Luxury brand or other premium product retail or design experience
