Job Description

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented  Residential Roofing Sales Specialist to join our team. This position is crucial in identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, guiding homeowners through the roofing process, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, customer-focused, and eager to learn, thriving in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Canvassing & Lead Generation: Actively seek out and identify potential customers, particularly in storm-affected areas. Educate homeowners on potential storm damage and the benefits of our roofing services, offering complimentary roof inspections to generate qualified leads.
  • Roof Inspections & Sales Process: Conduct thorough roof and exterior inspections, accurately identifying and documenting storm damage using photo and inspection software. Explain inspection findings, service options, and different roofing systems clearly and efficiently to homeowners.
  • Insurance Claim Guidance: Assist clients in understanding and initiating the insurance claim process, attending adjuster meetings to advocate for a fair damage assessment on their behalf. Guide clients through the necessary paperwork and communications with their insurance company.
  • Sales and Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, positive relationships with prospective and existing clients throughout the entire sales and project lifecycle. Present, promote, and sell roofing products and services using educational and persuasive sales strategies, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document project details, including photos and notes, for effective handoff to the production team. Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, appointments, and sales progress within the company's CRM system. Submit orders, activity reports, and territory analyses regularly.
  • Project Coordination & Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with the production and support teams to ensure seamless project execution once the inspection and sale are complete. Conduct final job walkthroughs to confirm customer satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, products, new technologies, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge and recommend improvements to products, services, and policies.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of outside sales or customer-facing experience (roofing or storm restoration experience preferred but not required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or training in sales or customer service is a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively convey information to clients.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to manage time and schedule effectively in an independent and dynamic work environment.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working outdoors in various weather conditions when necessary for roof inspections.
  • Proficiency in mobile technology, CRM tools (like AccuLynx, Xactimate, Salesforce, HubSpot, or JobNimbus), and photo-based documentation.
  • Familiarity with the insurance claim process (training available).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that can accommodate a ladder (a clean driving record is essential).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
