Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to assess loan applications and provide second-signature oversight on approvals made by our mortgage fulfillment vendor. This role involves analyzing borrower qualifications, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, and making sound credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate mortgage applications to determine borrower eligibility, creditworthiness, and ability to repay.
• Review and verify financial documents, credit reports, income sources (including complex self-employed income), and asset statements.
• Analyze applications involving multiple investment properties or second homes.
• Ensure compliance with internal lending policies and regulatory guidelines, including TRID rules and disclosure requirements.
• Perform second-signature reviews on appraisals and files underwritten by third-party vendors.
• Approve, condition, or deny loans based on thorough risk assessment.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2–5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the full mortgage origination process and regulatory guidelines.
• Proven ability to perform complex income calculations and manual underwriting.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication.
• Proficiency in TRID regulations and mortgage disclosure timing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5–10 years of mortgage underwriting experience.

***Pay Rate- $40-$41/hour
