Purchasing Buyer

The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for developing and implementing inventory strategies in collaboration with merchandising and operations teams to ensure optimal stock levels and support our overarching business objectives. This person lets data drive decision-making, challenges the status quo, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating purchase orders to facilitate the timely replenishment to the internal nationwide DC network
• Communicating with both vendors and internal DCs to ensure smooth flow of information and goods
• Working to ensure the highest service levels (fill rates) to our customers within inventory targets
• Meeting or exceeding inventory turn goals
• Monitoring vendor performance (fill rate and on-time delivery) and taking corrective action where necessary
• Coordinating returns to the vendors for damaged and discontinued merchandise
• Monitoring inventory at all assigned locations and recommending transfers as appropriate to reduce/prevent overstock
• Reviewing missed demand and adjusting inventory to capture future sales
• Other duties as assigned
