Senior Project Controller - Houston, TX

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Controller to provide comprehensive project management support services. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing key areas like project initiation, cost management, change management, and progress measurement, working closely with project managers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop project control organizational structure and staffing plans

Review project plans, estimates, schedules, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with control work breakdown structure (WBS)

Implement and maintain project controls and monitoring procedures, ensuring achievement of project schedule and cost objectives

Manage cost and progress data, track performance metrics, and analyze potential trends

Review project milestones, funding, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with Earned Value Management principles

Provide input on project documentation, baselines, and contractor requirements

Oversee financial aspects, including cost reporting, variance analysis, and project close-out activities

Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate forecasting and project trends

Present project progress and outcomes to senior management, providing recommendations for improvement

Qualifications:

University degree and 10-15 years of related experience in project controls

Strong understanding of project scope, cost management, and earned value management

Experience with SAP for budgeting and cost tracking

Proven ability to manage moderate to high-risk capital projects

Excellent communication skills for working across departments and reporting to senior leadership

Field experience and the ability to guide and mentor junior project controls staff are considered assets
