CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION
The Jefferson Hills Police Department is looking for highly motivated applicants who possess the desire to ensure public safety and enhance the quality of life in the Borough of Jefferson Hills. Applications to take the test for the position of full-time, entry-level police officer are being accepted on behalf of the Borough of Jefferson Hills, Civil Service Commission. Applications will be accepted until 3:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025 , at the Jefferson Hills Police Department, 925 Old Clairton Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025, 412-655-2222.
Jefferson Hills continues to be one of the fastest growing and progressive suburban communities in the south hills. The Borough of Jefferson Hills is located 13 miles south of the City of Pittsburgh, covers 16.9 square miles, and has a population of around 13,000 residents. It is an economically diverse community with excellent schools and has been recognized as one of the best communities to raise a family. The police department consists of 21 full-time police officers, with opportunities for officers to participate in specialized programs and assignments. Salary range: $70,068 (1st year Patrolman) - $107,798 (Top rate Patrolman in 2025, the final year of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement) with an excellent benefit package.

A physical agility test is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 9:00AM with a written test to immediately follow that same day for those who pass the physical agility test .
