We are seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our Studio team as a Pipeline Technical Manager . In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our production pipeline and render infrastructure, ensuring efficient workflows and reliable asset delivery for our large-format digital experiences. Your contributions will directly support our creative and technical teams while driving innovation and enhancing production quality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance pipeline tools and automated workflows across production departments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize render farm systems and performance, primarily using Smedge.
  • Collaborate with production, artists, and IT to identify technical needs and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Act as the technical liaison between creative, production, and technical teams.
  • Supervise and support the Pipeline Support Technician, ensuring accountability and performance.
  • Implement best practices for versioning, asset management, and pipeline scalability.
  • Provide IT support coverage during the absence of the Pipeline Support Technician.
  • Lead technical documentation efforts and train staff on pipeline tools, processes, and standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Animation Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production-facing pipeline or tools development role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and scripting for automation.
  • Strong understanding of DCC applications such as After Effects, Maya, Cinema 4D, and Unreal Engine.
  • Hands-on experience managing render farms, especially using Smedge.
  • Familiarity with asset management and version control tools (e.g., Shotgun, Perforce, Git).
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead technical team members.
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Experience (Bonus Points if You Have):

  • Experience working in smaller studios or startup-style environments.
  • Proficiency in C++ or JavaScript for developing advanced plugins or extensions.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with custom pipeline integrations or content management systems like Cnario.
