Schedule/Availability Requirements:
Orientation business day prior to shift in afternoon
Oct 25-27 (ending 28th am)
Nov 27-30 (ending Dec 1 am) (Thanksgiving holiday and weekend)
Dec 24-26 (ending Dec 27 am) (Christmas)
Dec 30-31 (ending Jan 1 am) (New Year's Eve)24hr call 7a-7a
Round in the NICU at least once per day then cover calls from the nursing staff and come to the hospital based as patient condition requires. NO rounding in nursery - peds hospitalists round in the nursery.
Setting: Level III NICU
Trauma Level/Designation: - Level II Trauma Center
Required Procedures:
- Ventilatory assistance, to include ETT CPAP.
- Nasal CPAP for more than 4 hours, NCPAP greater than 6 cm H2O, or FiO2 greater than 0.60.
- Surfactant administration beyond the initial dose.
- Administration of cardiac pressors.
- FiO2 greater than 0.60.
- PaCO2 greater than 50 on two arterial blood gases 1 hour apart.
- Peripheral arterial line or central line.
- Chest tube.
- Total Parenteral Nutrition Hyperalimentation.
- Exchange Transfusion.
- Gestational Age <32 0/7 weeks
- Birth weight <1600 grams
EMR: Cerner Care B
Support Staff: NICU nurses, Family Practice Residents (which the neonatologist supervises/teaches while they are on Nursery rotation). Laborists and Pediatric Hospitalists. No APP support
Reason for Coverage: Gaps in coverage and rebid
Travel Preferences (see attachment for specific travel guidelines):
- Preferred Lodging: none. In the event that the CommonSpirit Health preferred hotel is not available, hotel/lodging rates will be reimbursed based on actual expense, up to 1.5 times the current GSA rate for the market.
- ir Travel: ***/round trip cap
- Rental Cars: ***/day all in cap (including taxes and fees) regardless of car class.
- Mileage: IRS Standard Rate
- Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions, for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.
Credentialing Information:
Timeframe: 30 days if eligible for temporary/locum tenens privileges
Requirements: (I.e., no license or hospital privilege/membership actions, no significant malpractice history) MUST be on active staff at TJC accredited facility with unrestricted privs (NOT working as a locum)

Has had substantial recent experience covering neonatology services (not pediatrics) - Required
