Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Chicago, IL Experience - 10 + Year Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products (e.g., Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Real Application Clusters). Create and manage Oracle databases, including database creation, configuration, backup, recovery, and maintenance activities. Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, memory management, and storage management. Implement and enforce database security measures, such as user access controls, data encryption, and auditing. Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies, including performing regular backups and testing disaster recovery procedures. Participate in database capacity planning, growth projections, and resource allocation. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, errors, and performance bottlenecks. Collaborate with application development teams to ensure optimal database design and integration with applications. Provide technical guidance and training to junior DBAs, developers, and other stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database releases, features, and best practices. Document database configurations, procedures, and processes for knowledge transfer and compliance purposes. Required Skills and Qualifications: Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture, components, and administration tools ( e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL*Plus, RMAN). Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming languages. Knowledge of database backup and recovery techniques, including RMAN and Data Guard. Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and database security best practices. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Unix, Windows ) and storage technologies related to Oracle databases. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Oracle Certification(s) (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are highly preferred. SysMind Tech
