Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (10 hour shifts)

Mechanical Assembler - Immediate Opportunity at Elgin Sweeper!

Join the #1 street sweeper manufacturer in North America! Elgin Sweeper is seeking motivated Mechanical Assemblers to join our team. You’ll be working to assemble parts and vehicles according to customer specifications and quality standards.

Shift : Monday-Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
Overtime : Available on Fridays and some Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review factory orders and blueprints to understand assembly requirements and special options.
• Assemble components based on assembly drawings and job requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify Material Handler of shortages.
• Report non-conforming parts or materials to the Production Supervisor.
• Input work order data into MRP/JDE system and complete required reporting.
• Work with team leaders to resolve assembly issues.
• Follow established procedures to ensure defect-free products and conduct in-process inspections.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain workspace according to 5S principles and safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of related experience in mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for at least 6 hours per day.
