Summary

Pasadena-based E-Central Credit Union is looking for an enthusiastic team player to join us as a Loan Officer. The Loan Officer collaborates with the Lending team to grow new and existing profitable business relationships. This position examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of member applications for lines of credit, real estate loans, consumer credit loans, or vehicle loans. Primary Responsibilities

  • Interview loan applicants and request specified information for loan applications; explain payment options and set up repayment schedule with the applicant.
  • Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine the feasibility of granting a loan.
  • Cross-sell the Credit Union’s loan and ancillary products.
  • Meet a monthly production requirement.
  • Determine the correct Relationship Pricing and perform due diligence background checks.
  • Correspond with applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Recommend approval to the underwriter or refer loans to the manager.
  • Ensure loan agreements and documentation are complete and accurate according to policy; provide members with copies of all signed documents.
  • Provide credit decision response to members; arrange for disbursement of approved loans.
  • Call used car dealerships, attend real estate caravan events, and follow up with loan members to generate business leads.
  • Complete training assignments on a timely basis and maintains appropriate licensing.
  • Provide assistance with Member Services, Collection and Teller functions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in consumer lending, preferably in a bank or credit union.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, Credit Union policies, and governmental regulations.
  • Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to build rapport with new and existing members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills to exercise good judgment and make timely and sound decisions.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Job Type

This a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position working onsite in our corporate office. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm.

Pay

$20.00 per hour, plus incentives.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Working at a desk with a computer and telephone for extended periods of time;
  • Working in a traditional, climate-controlled environment;
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
