Live-In Housekeeper – Private Residence in Purchase, NY
Full-Time, 5-Day Live-In Schedule
A private family in Purchase, NY, is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Live-In Housekeeper to support the Head Housekeeper and maintain the smooth daily operation of their residence. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a team setting, maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization, and takes pride in creating a warm, polished, well-run home environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head Housekeeper and other staff to maintain a clean, tidy, and organized home.
Perform daily housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, making beds, and laundry.
Prepare simple meals as needed (primarily breakfasts and lunches).
Maintain housekeeping supplies and report any shortages or maintenance issues.
Manage and coordinate with outside vendors as required.
Occasionally walk the family dog and remain pet-friendly at all times.
Follow household safety protocols and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in private homes, luxury residences, or hotels preferred.
A team player who communicates well and works collaboratively with chefs, housekeepers, and other household staff.
Calm, discreet, courteous, and reliable, with strong attention to detail.
Able to take direction while also anticipating household needs.
Physically capable of managing active, hands-on housekeeping tasks throughout the day.
Comfortable with early mornings (shifts begin at 5:30 AM), with flexibility for overtime or schedule changes based on household needs.
English proficiency required; valid driver’s license preferred.
Must be pet-friendly and comfortable around dogs.
Schedule & Accommodations
Five-day live-in schedule (room in the main residence or shared cottage provided).
Daily shifts begin at 5:30 AM and may run into the evening, with a 2-hour break during the day.
No travel required.
