PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE SEASONAL POSITIONS. THE TOUR SEASON WILL END 10/31/24, BUT ALL HIRED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT IN 2025. Captain Captains are responsible for all activity on the boat, including the safe operation of their boat and providing passenger safety and comfort. They are to instruct all LGCL employees working on the boat in the emergency and safety procedures. They are responsible for assigning crew duties and overseeing the activities of all crew members, wait staff, bartenders, etc. as well as outside vendors operating aboard LGCL boats. Other duties include coordinating cleaning efforts, checking engines, doing basic maintenance, piloting, keeping order, and giving the narrated tour. Duties vary from boat to boat and also if the shift is for a charter or public tour. Previous large boat experience is preferred.
Bartender LGCL bartenders are responsible for all items that are handled at the bar including use of the TOAST Point of Sale program. They are also responsible for inventory, cash receipts, and collection of all charges from wait staff and working out charges from charter groups with the Captain. The bartender is also responsible for cleaning the bar prior to and after each shift, operating it in a sanitary manner and properly stocking the bar. A LGCL Bartender may also be responsible for some boat crew duties such as cleaning and rope tying on some shifts on certain boats.
Crew/Tour Guide Crew/tour guide duties include cleaning, boat set-up, giving live narrated tours, keeping order on board, interacting with passengers and any other duties that arise. The duties of a crew/tour guide vary depending on whether the cruise is a private charter or a public tour. It is very important that all crew members, whether on a tour or charter, are visible to the customers at all times and are available to answer questions and assist in any way needed.
Wait Staff/Caterer Duties include cleaning, boat set-up, keeping order on board, serving food and drinks, interacting with passengers, doing dishes, and any other service duties that arise. Our meal tours provide catered meals that are served by our staff. The Caterer position also manages food service on our private charters and public tours that have catered food served.
