About the Role:
We are seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 1–8 years of civil litigation experience to join a client of ours at their Seattle office.
You will:
- Draft and argue pleadings, dispositive motions, and appeals in Washington state and federal courts.
- Conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives - including aviation and maritime specialists.
- Manage written discovery: prepare discovery plans, draft requests and responses, and handle e discovery strategy.
- Coordinate experts in engineering, aviation, maritime, medical, and economic disciplines; prepare expert reports and Daubert challenges.
- Guide clients through every phase of litigation—providing risk assessments, coverage analysis, and strategic advice.
- Lead and participate in ADR (mediations, arbitrations) and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
- Prepare witnesses and exhibits for trial; assist first chair partners with voir dire, opening, and closing when cases proceed to verdict.
- Mentor junior associates and paralegals; collaborate closely with team members across offices.
- Support business development efforts by drafting client alerts, presenting CLEs, and nurturing existing carrier relationships.
