Job Description
The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for providing infection prevention and control consultation both proactively and in response to outbreaks within the facilities. Infection control is a part of ensuring the safety of residents and to facilitate the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident. This position will support implementation of patient safety initiatives for COVID-19 and other emerging pathogens by performing onsite infection prevention and control assessments, providing health education to pertinent people, and serving as experts in infection control issues.
Qualifications:
Must have:
RN, at a minimum, a nursing degree from a professional nursing education program approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
Current Minnesota Registration as a Registered Nurse.
Current Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care Preferred.
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community.
