Job Overview We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Frameworks Inner Source team. The Frameworks Inner Source team is responsible for developing and maintaining the core components of our organization's data platform. The team focuses on creating scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions that enable seamless access to various datasets across the company. As a key member of this team, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy cutting-edge applications. As a Python developer, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement a robust RESTful API using Python. Your task is to create a comprehensive API that provides users with easy access to metadata about available datasets within the company. You'll need to follow industry-standard best practices for development, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities Set up a development environment according to best practices Design and implement a Python-based RESTful API using a modular architecture Build containers using Docker and ensure proper configuration management Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deploying the API to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Integrate the API with existing systems and services Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on the API design Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality Qualifications Enrolled in an undergraduate program studying computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, data science, or a related discipline. Expected degree completion within a year of the internship Applied technology experience through academic projects Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala) and comfortable working with SQL Experience within the Cloud is a plus, but not required Demonstrated interest in a software engineering career path Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Motivated, curious and enthusiastic Arrowstreet Capital is a Boston-based systematic investment firm that manages global equity portfolios for institutional investors around the world.
