Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Specialty: EMT – Emergency Department (ED)
Shift: Day, 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Job Duration: 26 Weeks
Orientation: 8 hours (Non-Billable)

Seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with phlebotomy experience to work in a Level III Trauma, Magnet, and Teaching Facility. The role involves providing direct patient care within the EMT scope of practice, including equipment setup and maintenance, patient assessments, and education.

• Perform vital signs monitoring, glucometer checks, 12-lead EKGs, and visual acuity exams.
• Apply splints, provide crutch training, and conduct wound care.
• Obtain specimens and perform blood glucose monitoring.
• Fit and educate patients on durable medical equipment.
• Prepare wounds and assist with other clinical needs.
• Independently execute tasks within the scope of position.

• Years of Experience Required: 1 year.
• Certifications: BLS, EMT, Minnesota EMT license.
• Special Skills: Experience with vital signs, glucometer, EKG, splinting, crutch training, and wound care. Triage experience preferred.
• Charting System: Epic/Excellian experience preferred.

• Shift: 0700-1930 (Day Shift).
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• On-Call: Not required.
• Floating: Not required.
• Block Scheduling: Not available.

• Guaranteed Hours: The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts at any time without penalty. On-call hours do not count toward guaranteed hours.
• Locals Accepted: Yes.
• Pending Licenses Accepted: Yes.
• RTO Restrictions: Up to 5 days allowed.

• Type: Short-Term Acute Care Facility.
• Trauma Level: Level III.
• Total Staffed Beds: 672.
• Scrub Color: Teal.
• Parking: Flat rate hourly fee applies to all shifts.
