We are seeking a Digital Forensics Investigator who will be responsible for identifying, collecting, examining, and analyzing electronically stored information to support ongoing investigations.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Work both independently and as part of a team to conduct forensic analysis to assist with investigations and the drafting of complex reports.
  • Perform digital forensics on a variety of media, including hard drives, thumb drives, memory cards, and cellular devices.
  • Follow industry best practices and standards in digital evidence acquisition, handling, and documentation
  • Utilize industry standard electronic discovery and data forensic hardware and software to ensure data integrity and defensibility.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient services to the business.
  • Conduct Client collections and processing using the following tools: EnCase, FTK, Intella, Cellebrite, Digital Collector, Magnet Axiom Cyber, Microsoft 365 Purview, and hard drive cloning.
  • Process all requests according to established workflow intake processes and internal guidelines.
  • Clearly explain the evidence and methodology used for the investigation.
  • Be responsible for technical data handling for data culling services, working with the business partner requestors to process the data with the provided requirements.
  • Manage and process data preservation, collection, and processing requests for all custodian based electronically stored information, including all M365 applications and resources (email, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.), hard disk drives, network shares, cloud sources, portable devices, and system audit logs.

Location/Travel: This role will be able to work primarily remotely but will require travel to company and government client site locations across Florida and the Washington DC metro region on an as needed basis. Preference will be given to candidate who are local to the DC Metro Region or who reside in Florida.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Information Security, Security Audit, Cybersecurity, or IT Investigations
  • At least 3 years of Digital Forensics experience to include experience with digital forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK (Forensic Toolkit), X1 Social Discovery, Autopsy, Sleuth Kit, and Cellebrite for mobile device forensics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Security, Security Audit, Cybersecurity, or IT Investigations
  • Relevant security certifications such as:
    • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CCE (Certified Computer Examiner)
    • CFCE (Certified Forensic Computer Examiner), GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification)
    • GCFE (GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner), or GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst) (GCFA)
