La Prima Espresso Co in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a coffee shop manager to join our dynamic team. We have four retail locations and a roastery. This position is for our CMU campus locations. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and reliable.

About La Prima

La Prima Espresso Company is a locally owned and operated coffee company with four retail locations and a certified organic roasting facility. La Prima is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with management experience in the food or coffee industry.

Candidates interested in working for La Prima Espresso Co. should have availability for 6 to 8-hour shifts from the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday with the great majority being weekdays. The best candidates will have an interest in coffee, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 7-10 baristas each day
• Lead by example in attitude, service, and spirit
• Manage excellent customer service experiences
• Coach on beverage quality, efficiency, and speed
• Work within the CMU vendor community and communicate with CMU staff
• Place orders and manage inventory
• Solve day-to-day problems as they arise

Qualifications

Manager candidates should have experience:

• Leading a team by example
• Creating schedules and managing inventory
• In a fast-paced customer service environment
• Compassionately enforcing policies
• Working as a team with a positive attitude
• Communicating proactively
• Brewing and serving espresso and coffee in a cafe setting
• Working and standing for 8-9 hour shifts, with an excellent attendence record.

This is a full-time position with competitive; experience-based pay, UPMC health care benefits, PTO, and a robust 401K.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $25.00 - $26.00/hour.
