Job Description

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Overview Passport Automotive is seeking an experienced CFO to work for a highly successful and prominent auto dealership group located in the Washington, DC metro area with 9 import stores including BMW, Mini, Toyota, Nissan, Infinity and Mazda. Combined annual sales revenues are in excess of $600 Million. We have been operating for over 30 years and are currently transitioning into our second generation of leadership. Qualifications CPA Preferred (BS in Accounting /Business Management/Finance) Public accounting experience with automotive clients is preferred Previous automotive industry experience as CFO or controller in a multi-point family operation or large group Compensation Very competitive salary commensurate with experience and full benefits package. Responsibilities Oversee and manage the dealership's financial reporting and accounting practices, as well as its affiliated real estate and other ancillary companies. Communicate effectively with ownership, GM’s and other departments including the sales & finance managers and fixed operations directors to ensure that the management team is on the same page. Lead and train staff of controllers, office managers and other accounting staff and create an environment of collaboration, best processes, cross-training and financial responsibility. Implement cost control measures and drive financial efficiencies. Manage the procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and proper accounting controls to minimize risk of theft, fraud and loss. Maintain relationship with outside CPA firm to ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), minimize tax liabilities and provide information necessary to prepare annual reviewed financial statements and business tax returns and oversee all required tax payments throughout the year for businesses and owners. Maintain relationship with legal counsel to ensure that all dealership financial activities are properly conducted, documented, and reported. Maintain relationships with financial institutions on all matters including daily banking, cash management and debt service. Manage payroll through 3rd party company, insurance providers and coverage, vendors and manufacturer communications. Skills and Business Experience Exceptional relational, communication & presentation skills. Strong financial insight and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends. Automotive DMS experience is a must (Reynolds/Tekkion). Highly skilled/proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications. Adept at Adobe Acrobat. Able to download and convert data from manufacturers, bankers and vendor websites into meaningful accounting data and integrate into processes. Ability to review business contracts, loan agreements, leases and other corporate documents. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to automotive activities including: Filing requirements related to federal, state and local taxes (sales, payroll, income, real estate).
