Job Title: Medical Scheduler Job Description The Medical Scheduler assesses a large volume of phone calls and requests both clinical and non-clinical in nature while providing superior customer service and maintaining a one-call resolution standard. Responsibilities Assess a high volume of incoming calls and requests. Schedule appointments including physicals, office visits, consults, hospital follow-ups, and CDL exams for 100+ multi-specialty physicians and other medical professionals. Utilize all resources available to efficiently and effectively assist all callers. Transfer/warm-transfer calls to other departments and/or staff members when appropriate. Gather all pertinent information for requests and relay messages to clinical staff members accordingly. Handle emergencies according to specified procedures. Use NextGen medical software and Microsoft Outlook on a daily basis. Essential Skills Call center experience Customer service experience within a call center or as a healthcare receptionist Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel Healthcare experience, preferably in a call center, medical records, or customer service Experience with outbound calls and scheduling appointments Ability to handle multi-line phone systems Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma 2+ years of healthcare experience Work Environment Located in Poughkeepsie, the work schedule is Monday-Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM with a rotating Saturday shift every 4-6 weeks from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees working on Saturday can either work straight through the week or take a day off in the middle of the week. A 30-minute lunch break is provided. Employees are required to work with minimal supervision and should be comfortable working independently. Remote work is possible and can typically be granted around the 6-month mark based on performance and the ability to work independently. Once permanent, candidates are eligible for healthcare, vision, and dental insurance. After one year of employment, employees receive 401K options.
