We are seeking Burmese Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Burmese (Myanmar language) is a priority Southeast Asian language often required for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases. Responsibilities Provide real-time Burmese - English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality in immigration, asylum, and legal contexts. Comply with USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics and professional standards. Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Burmese and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, refugee/asylum, medical, or government preferred). Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–32/hour. Remote work using secure USCIS-approved platforms.
