Job Description

Summary: The Marketing Director is a management level position responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management for Beach Street’s marketing strategies. The role will also oversee the marketing teams and programs for the surf destinations that Beach Street operates, including but are not limited to DSRT Surf, HTX Surf and Atlantic Park in Virginia Beach. The Marketing Director will play a crucial role in achieving business objectives, increasing brand awareness, and driving revenue growth through effective marketing strategies. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the company's overall marketing strategy. Align marketing goals with the company's business objectives. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing marketing team of consultants and team members. Set clear goals, provide direction, and evaluate team performance. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment. Budget Management: Create and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively. Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective marketing campaigns. Campaign Development: Conceptualize and lead the development of marketing campaigns, both online and offline. Determine target audiences and messaging strategies. Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, advertisements, and promotional materials. Digital Marketing: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. Analyze digital marketing data to optimize campaigns and improve ROI. Brand Management: Maintain and enhance the company's brand image and identity. Ensure brand consistency across all marketing efforts. Market Research and Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends and consumer behavior. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities. Marketing Analytics: Utilize data and analytics tools to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns. Make data-driven decisions to improve marketing effectiveness. Sales and Lead Generation: Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for lead generation and conversion. Ensure marketing efforts contribute to sales growth and revenue targets. Public Relations: Manage public relations efforts, including media relations and crisis communications. Build relationships with industry influencers and stakeholders. Leadership and Mentorship: In addition to Beach Street marketing needs, the Director of Marketing will oversee site marketing efforts and teams for individual projects that Beach Street operates. Partnerships and Sponsorships: Work with our Partnership Manager to negotiate partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations that align with the company's brand and goals. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure marketing practices adhere to legal and ethical standards. Stay updated on regulations affecting marketing activities. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Proven experience in marketing leadership roles, with a track record of success. Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Surf Industry and culture knowledge and experience. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in marketing software and analytics tools. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Budget management and financial acumen. Creative and innovative mindset. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and technologies. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Established roster of media and PR contacts. Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Abilities Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests. Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner. Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred). Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Sit, walk, and stand continuously. Lift / carry 25 lbs (frequently) and 50 lbs (occasionally). Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level. Use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
