Reporting to the SVP Head of Compliance of the New York Agency, this is an opportunity to join an established Commercial Banking Agency in New York, with a strong growth story and potential. The Agency plays a critical strategic role for the Bank and the right candidate will become an integral part of the Compliance team and enjoy exposure to many facets of the Compliance function, supporting day to day business and having the opportunity to work across the board with colleagues in New York and Head Office in Central America..

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Compliance or AML-related role in Commercial Banking (candidates from other financial services entities including fintech may also be considered).
• Experience with transaction monitoring alerts investigations.
• Ability to assess and investigate high-risk customer profiles.
• Knowledge of global AML regulations, including those from OFAC, FATF, FinCEN, and EU directives.
• Exposure to and experience in dealing with US Regulatory exam cycles (conducted by Fed and/or DFS)
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Spanish language skills preferred (written and verbal).

Responsibilities:

• Review and resolve transaction monitoring alerts in accordance with internal procedures and risk appetite.
• Review of high-risk customers
• Manage and escalate potential sanctions or adverse media screening hits identified during onboarding or ongoing monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, Risk, and Commercial.
• Support the SVP Compliance in maintaining Compliance Policies and Procedures updated, and providing information as requested for the external and internal audits.
