Job Description:
The Department of Teaching, Learning & Educational Leadership at Binghamton University, State University of New York (SUNY), invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor with expertise in special education to begin in Fall 2026. This faculty member's primary affiliation would be within the Master of Education in Special Education program, a program for students seeking a master's degree and NYS initial and professional teaching certification in grades pre-K-12.

Binghamton University's Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership (TLEL) department, housed within the College of Community of Public Affairs (CCPA), seeks a 10-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate professor of special education to work with students pursuing degrees in special education. Current faculty research interests include effective teacher preparation, interventions for academics, discipline and behavior, special education policy and advocacy, and workforce issues. Faculty are expected to teach four classes per academic year, in both in person and online asynchronous formats. There are also opportunities for mentoring doctoral students from our highly interdisciplinary graduate programs.

The successful candidate will also serve as coordinator for the special education program. This will involve providing leadership in program development and review, supporting accreditation and certification processes, and fostering strong relationships with school and community partners. Prior experience with program coordination and curriculum leadership is preferred for candidates seeking appointment at the rank of associate professor.Requirements:
